If you’re looking for a delightful culinary experience that perfectly captures the essence of Devonport, look no further than Dockside Food & Coffee. Nestled at 27 Murray St, just steps away from the jetty, this charming café is a must-visit for anyone arriving by the Spirit of Tasmania or simply exploring the area.

The moment you step inside Dockside Food & Coffee, you’re welcomed by a vibrant and groovy atmosphere, infused with the essence of local charm and lined with the signatures of countless satisfied customers adorning the walls. It’s a testament to the café's popularity and a unique experience you won't find anywhere else.

While the café offers a variety of delectable breakfast options, their toasted sandwiches are particularly noteworthy, as highlighted by customer Lesleigh White, who raved about the quality and taste following her early morning arrival. “Great cafe! ... The best thing was we could sign our name on the wall with the other thousand people! LOVE IT!!” she exclaimed. And if you’re a coffee lover, you’ll be pleased to know that their brews come highly recommended. Rob Parkes, another patron, noted that “the coffee was great” and paired perfectly with his bacon and eggs on toast, making it an ideal start to the day.

Speaking of breakfast, you can’t go wrong with the all-you-can-eat option for under $15, as Mere Nepia found to be “value for money.” And let’s not forget the unique interior decor and friendly staff, which create an inviting ambience to kick-start your morning. Whether you’re fueling up before a long day of sightseeing or savoring a leisurely breakfast, Dockside Food & Coffee offers the perfect backdrop to enjoy good food and coffee.

If you’re arriving early off the Spirit of Tasmania, take Jayantha Ranjan Jayasuriya’s advice: “A hidden gem for early risers.” With doors opening at 6 AM, you can gather strength for your adventures ahead in a place where charm meets comfort.

With its great location, inviting atmosphere, and delicious offerings, Dockside Food & Coffee not only serves food but also provides a unique opportunity to connect with the local community. So, make sure you stop by and experience a taste of Devonport that simplifies the post-journey step from ferry to feast.

Great cafe! We disbarked off the Sprit of Tasmania early morning and found this cafe just out the front of the jetty. We both had toasted sandwiches They were pretty good!! Good coffee. The best thing was we could sign our name on the wall with the other thousand people! LOVE IT!!

Our first taste of Devonport fresh off the Spirit of Tassie and it didn't disappoint. Open at 6AM for breakfast, coffee was great, the bacon & eggs on toast with a hash brown was awesome. Thoroughly recommend, but get in early. It's the first one everyone will see when they get off the ship.

Great brekky before boarding the Spirit of Tasmania. Very friendly owner and staff. All you can eat is value for money at less than $15. The writings on the walls say everything.

Groovy decor, groovy people, yummy food. AND, they are open when the Spirit of Tasmania ferry comes in ridiculously early. Win win! Thanks for a lovely intro to Tassie.
